New York, United States: Fabulously Friendly Brunches

While there is certainly no dearth of restaurants in NYC, we found these places particularly fabulous, for their baby-friendliness, mouth-watering brunches and trendy NY atmosphere.

Jane Restaurant (100 W. Houston Street) - Don't let the line outside intimidate you (this is NY, every place with a half decent brunch menu is packed on the weekend). Jane is crowded and bustling for sure, which is the number one reason you want to eat there, so that even though you are a "parent", you can still be part of the scene (luckily, this place is pretty down-to-earth and not too NY hipster). The hostess was very gracious and held our table for us even though our whole party had not arrived (whaa?!), and they efficiently checked away our stroller as they ushered us to our table. Again, no kids menu (seems to be the norm here in NY), but high chair, 2 egg sides, and plenty of smiles going around. Walk over to great kids' shopping in SoHo when you are done.

Sarabeth's West (423 Amsterdam Avenue) - With two other locations in Manhattan, Sarabeth's is a classic NY institution. Its commitment to fresh foods, classic and innovative brunch offerings, bright and airy space, and friendly service keeps its reputation solid, and its lines long (15-20 minute waits, so plan accordingly). Again, high chair and no kids menu but plenty to choose from. When you are done, cross over to Cozy's Cuts for Kids and give your bub the opportunity to get a cut whilst seated in a car or plane! Gotta love NY!
